Lead Pastor – Mike Furtado
Mike began serving CLA as lead Pastor in February 2009 after serving as Assistant Pastor the previous year. Mike has been serving as a pastor in BC and has a passion to see the Next Generation embrace the truth of Christ and the church he met and married Julie. Mike and Julie previously served as youth, music, and children’s ministers most recently here on the Sunshine Coast at Pender Harbour Community Church. Mike and Julie are both Graduates of Summit Pacific College (Western Pentecostal Bible College) in Abbotsford. They have one daughter, Maisy and a son, Sam.
Associate Pastor – Rev. David Ball
Pastor Dave brings a depth of wisdom and knowledge to the staff. We are greatly blessed to have his leadership and servant's heart in CLA. In addition to several years of pastoral service in British Columbia, Pastor Ball served from 1991 to 2007 as an executive officer with The Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada both in the BC/Yukon District, and with the General Conference, in Mississauga. Dave and his wife Pat have two daughters, Heather and Julie, one son, Peter, and two grandchildren.
Office Administrator – Bev McGowan
Bev is our longest serving staff member. She helps take care of the daunting paper work and keeps the wheels turning for our many programs and meetings. Beyond all the wonderful work she does around the office, she helps organize Women's events and with her husband Jim they teach Sunday School as well as being heavily involved in our Next Generation programs for Girls and Boys. Basically everything grinds to a halt when she's not around. We greatly appreciate her thoughtful encouragement and tireless commitment to serve this church and community.
